Tresaison Harlem, known as Speckle.

Harlem is a 16.1hh (not mature height) 5 year old imported Knabstrupper stallion.
He is the first and only KNN licensed Fewspot Knabstrupper stallion in South Africa.

Imported from Wales, UK in 2013 as a foal, Harlem has exceeded expectation with a cheeky yet solid temperament and shows an even more remarkable temperament under saddle. Easy going, steady and intelligent - all the traits the Knabstruppers are known for.

Harlem received his temporary stallion license in 2016 and now that he is old enough, he will complete his test for life time approval in 2019.

Harlem is by the well known KNN licensed Knabstrupper stallion, Nobody's Harlequin, who produced numerous successful offpring and is out of a KNN licensed Knabstrupper mare.

We are awaiting the arrival of his first foals this year, 2018.

As Harlem is a fewspot, he offers some very unique colour genetics.
His DNA was sent to California so that we may know exactly which genes he carries:

He is homozygous for the spotted gene (LP/LP) * He will always produce offspring with a spotted pattern when put to solid coloured mares.

Homozygous for the extension gene or red factor (E/E) * He can never produce chestnut or sorrel offspring.

Heterozygous PATN1 (n/PATN1) 50% chance of passing this gene on to offspring. If inherited, offspring will likely be loudly spotted. If not inherited, offspring will be faintly patterned on a mostly solid coat and will varnish with age.

Heterozygous agouti (a/A) This gene determines the distribution of black pigment.

Harlem undergoes his annual CEM certification and is available for stud duties via fresh or chilled semen to select mares.
We are also willing to arrange frozen semen for export to countries that allow importation from South Africa.
